Our Story

The 108 Golf Resort in 100 Mile House began its journey in 1969 when Block Brothers Realty envisioned the area as a recreational ranch. The initial developments included the construction of the South Cariboo Regional Airport and clearing land for the golf course, making it accessible for potential buyers. By 1970, the former 26,000-acre Monical Ranch was being transformed into a vibrant destination resort, offering lots for purchase and a variety of recreational amenities. The centerpiece was a stunning golf course built to PGA Championship standards, accompanied by a clubhouse, swimming pool, restaurant, and a 20-room hotel, with further expansions in 1974 adding a Motor Lodge and tennis courts to enhance the resort's appeal. In 2010, tragedy struck when a fire destroyed a building housing the restaurant, pro shop, and conference center, following an earlier fire in 2009 that affected the hotel area; fortunately, no one was injured in either incident. In 2017, ownership of the 108 Golf Resort changed hands with Jessica Gong and her uncle taking the reins. A few days later, the Gustafsen wildfires swept across the region, and the entire community was evacuated. In a show of solidarity, the resort opened its doors to support those who remained, including firefighters and RCMP officers. Despite the challenges of the first month, the resort and local businesses rallied together, providing essential assistance to first responders. Remarkably, the resort served nearly 6,000 meals to these brave individuals free of charge, demonstrating the community's resilience and commitment to helping one another in times of crisis. The 108 Golf Resort not only weathered its challenges but also emerged stronger by fostering connections and support during tough times. Its commitment to helping first responders during the wildfires exemplifies how unity and compassion can uplift a community, showcasing that together, they can overcome even the most difficult obstacles. This spirit of collaboration continues to define the resort and its place in the heart of 100 Mile House.
